The purpose of this is to debate a Bill before it is added. Debate can center on whether the Bill should be passed or not, or it can center over which lobbyists care about the Bill in question. Some Bills are unconstitutional or simply redundant, so if this Bill is one of those, it won't be added in the first place, so feel free to debate that, too. Have fun.

I support 100%. This is probably the best thing McCain has ever come up with. It just makes me wonder a bit..... how will McCain find terrorists?

why do we need this and why life in prison?what if wiretapping can stop attacks?the judges would rarely allow tapping.

Not everyone will go and get a warrant. And there are issues about this, and that is why this bill was created.

The information gathered from an illegal wiretapping of a completely innocent is, at worst, the equivalent of peeking in somebody's diary. Any shady or illegal acts come across are just that: illegal. Nothing there warrants life imprisonment. That's just silly.

I'm not advocating the wiretapping of innocent people fore no reason. But I think we should be able to wiretap any terrorists or suspected terrorists who are not citizens without a warrant; and any citizens who are suspected of terrorism/conspiring with terrorists can be wiretapped with a warrant.

Carli brings up a good point. I would shorten the sentance.

...the punishment can be otherwise decided by a federal judge in court.

That will be most of the time the case Senator Berlac and Congressman Carli.

I do not believe that a person who does this deserves life imprisonment but i do believe they deserve some jail time. I also do agree that this is a very bad crime. I do not however agree 100% with this bill.
